Teachers and families invited to ‘Muffins With Markay’

    1–2 minutes

Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) Interim Superintendent Dr. Markay Winston held her first ‘Muffins with Markay’ event on August 30, 2024 at Highland Park Elementary. Muffins with Markay events are part of Dr. Winston’s entry plan, intended to foster family and community engagement. Muffins with Markay events are informal opportunities for parents, teachers, and community members to engage with her directly in a relaxed, open environment.

The events offer attendees a chance to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns, while fostering two-way communication between school leadership and the community. Whether participants ask questions about district initiatives or share suggestions for improvement, the sessions foster direct and honest conversation.

On October 25, 2024, the second Muffins with Markay event was held at Lakeview Elementary, continuing the district’s commitment to open dialogue. The gathering included:

    • Informal Discussions: A friendly, relaxed setting for community members to share their thoughts and ideas.
    • Q&A Opportunities: Attendees had the chance to ask questions and receive direct responses from Superintendent Markay.
    • Networking: Parents, teachers, and school staff came together to strengthen relationships and build connections within the community.

Muffins with Markay events provide an invaluable opportunity to contribute to the conversation about the future of MCCSC schools. For more information regarding Muffins with Markay, please visit: https://www.mccsc.edu/59415_3.
