MCCSC opens applications for ambassador program

    Students from various schools

The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) has opened applications for the Strong Schools, Strong Community Ambassador Program, an engaging four-month experience designed to strengthen partnerships between the school corporation and the broader Bloomington/Monroe County community. The program allows ambassadors to deepen their understanding of MCCSC schools, learn how they operate, and learn how to effectively share the MCCSC story as community advocates.

The program is an immersive experience, designed to give ambassadors a chance to participate in engaging activities to learn about schools and day-to-day school operations. The program also gives MCCSC administration the opportunity to hear various perspectives, listen, and learn.

    Session topics are:

    • Meet MCCSC: Learn about our schools and how we prepare students for their futures in grades K-12, and student academic opportunities.
    • Funding Students’ Futures: Learn how our schools are funded, and how referenda help fill state funding gaps and support our earliest learners.
    • Supporting Every Student: Learn how we support our students, including mental health support and student safety.
    • School Days Behind the Scenes: See behind-the-scenes of what it takes to operate a school corporation including in the areas of transportation, child nutrition, and more.

The program is part of MCCSC’s long-term strategy to build new relationships and strengthen existing community partnerships. It builds on the recent Strong Schools, Strong Community Advisory Council group.

Dates for the Fall 2026 Cohort are Tuesdays September 8, October 13, November 10, and December 8. Dates for the Spring 2027 Cohort are Tuesdays January 12, February 9, March 9, and April 13.
