Thanks to public support for MCCSC’s 2023 Referendum, tuition assistance for early learning programs is available to MCCSC-districted families. MCCSC offers two referendum-funded programs: 4-Year-Old Pre-K and 3-Year-Old Preschool. While public support for the 2023 referendum more than doubled enrollment in these programs, enrollment is open and there is still space available for new families to enroll.
“We are actively enrolling for the 2026-27 school year, and have spots in all our Pre-K programs, as well as our Preschool programs at the Early Learning Center and our elementary based classrooms,” said Dr. Tim Dowling, director of early learning and enrollment. “We are eager to help families and students join us in MCCSC and community partner classrooms.”
3-Year-Old Preschool: All MCCSC-districted income-eligible families can attend MCCSC’s 3-year-old Preschool programs for free or receive a stipend toward partner provider programs. This applies to all MCCSC and partner provider Preschool programs. Preschool is offered at MCCSC elementary schools and the MCCSC Early Learning Center.
All MCCSC school based Preschool classrooms are state-licensed, NAEYC accredited, and rated Paths to QUALITYtm Level 4 – the highest level in the State of Indiana’s Child Care Quality Rating system. Preschool staff work with students to develop skills in language and literacy, fine and gross motor, cognitive, and social-emotional domains while encouraging students to build the skills needed to guide their learning independently.
4-Year-Old Pre-K: All MCCSC-districted families, regardless of income, qualify for assistance that covers at least $4,000 in assistance toward the full $8,000 cost of the MCCSC 4-year-old Pre-K program. The $4,000 in assistance applies to MCCSC and partner provider Pre-K programs. Pre-K is offered at MCCSC elementary schools.
All MCCSC Pre-K classrooms are state-licensed, NAEYC accredited and Paths to QUALITYtm Level 4 — the highest level in the State of Indiana’s Child Care Quality Rating system. Certified teachers teach kindergarten-readiness skills in the areas of language and literacy, math and science, and social-emotional development. Weekly experiences in Art, Music, and PE provide additional enrichment opportunities for Pre-K students.
