At the beginning of the school year, The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new soccer field at Bloomington High School South. The project, funded through bonds, is part of our effort to enhance school facilities: Designing & Building to Sustain Excellence.
“One of my top priorities has been ensuring our students have access to state-of-the-art academic, athletic, and performing arts facilities,” said MCCSC Superintendent Dr. Markay Winston. “I am grateful to the Board of School Trustees and the public for their support of this project.”
Funding large facility investments through bonds is a common practice to maintain financial stability in the school corporation fund designated for wages and other expenses. “This project demonstrates our responsible stewardship of public resources while investing in facilities that will benefit current and future generations,” said Winston.
