Many families eligible for free or half-cost enrollment

The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) is now enrolling for summer EdVenture Camp and the 4-year-old Pre-K program for the 2025-2026 school year.
MCCSC’s Pre-K program is open to students who will have turned four years old by August 1, 2025. Through the 2023 Referendum, all MCCSC families, regardless of income, qualify for at least $4,000 in assistance toward the full $8,000 cost of the Pre-K program through MCCSC or partner providers.
Pre-K is offered in 13 elementary schools. All programs are state-licensed and rated Level 4 in Paths to QUALITY, the highest rating designated by Indiana’s Child Care Quality Rating and Improvement System. All Pre-K classrooms are also NAEYC accredited. Certified teachers teach kindergarten-readiness skills. The daily schedule blends free-choice and teacher planned activities for a well-balanced learning day. Weekly experiences in Art, Music, and PE provide additional enrichment opportunities for Pre-K students.
EdVenture Camp offers “Mad Science” themed sessions June 2 through July 24 for students entering Pre-K (4-year-olds) through 8th grade. This year, a new “Little Explorers” Camp offers Pre-K and Kindergarten students the chance to participate in age appropriate and theme-based activities including arts and crafts, music, story time, games, water play, and more.
A limited number of EdVenture Camp scholarships are available for those who qualify. To qualify for scholarships, for K-8th grade students, families must have received MCCSC Free/Reduced meals during the 2024-2025 school year. Pre-K students whose family incomes are 225% or less of the federal poverty level are eligible to attend for free, through MCCSC’s 2023 Referendum.
